The Cashiers Chamber Of Commerce was started in 1982 to promote community businesses and extend what has traditionally been a seasonal business environment. By promoting events and organizing community-wide business initiatives throughout the year the Chamber hopes to not only expand awareness of our community but also increase business for all members.

The Cashiers Chamber Of Commerce is involved in the community in a number of different ways, all with the idea of improving tourism and boosting our community's businesses. Here are some of the activities of the Chamber last year:
- Published an Area Restaurant Guide
- Published a Membership Directory
- Published Area Shopping Guide
- Worked with Jackson County to promote economic development
- Sponsored 35th Annual Christmas Parade
- Sponsored Cashiers Mountain Music Festival
- School involvement included:
- Supports all school activities
- Sponsors Golf for Education Day
- Beautification efforts include:
- Adopt-A-Highway Program to pick up litter
- Continued improvement of Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 107 intersection
- Chamber office activities include:
- 25 new members joined in 2011
- Hosted 6 travel writers
- Continued Business After Hours
- Continued Lost and Found service for community
- Sent out more than 20,000 information packets to people who inquired about our area
- Offered small business counseling
- Operates and maintains the Chamber Visitors Center
- Maintains www.cashiersnorthcarolina.com website
- Greeted over 10,000 visitors
